o:1716 Izveštavanje lista Politika u vreme Prvog balkanskog rata: (oktobar 1912 - maj 1913) Reporting of Politika newspaper during the First Balkan war : doctoral dissertation sr The main objective of the disertation topic „Reporting of Politika newspaper during First Balkan War (October 1912 – May 1913)” is to show in which way the most-read newspaper at the time reported about the war that resulted in retreat of Ottoman empire forces from Balkan peninsula. Considering that appearance of Politika on the media market marked the rise of modern political press and that the First Balkan War marked the first war conflict that Serbian media intensively reported about, the author of this dissertation aims at contributing to the research of history of journalism, journalistic genres, propaganda models, war journalism as well as the research of contemporary journalism and development of journalistic profession in this area. Quantitative and qualitative content analysis proved that Politika created a unique reporting model that contributed to positive framing of Serbia among the worldwide public and development of contemporary journalism in this part of Europe by combining informative and propagandistic reporting function and implementing unique language, stylistic and genre constructions.
