o:2683 TV Eurikon and Europa TV Research on the Beginning of Transnational pan-European Television en Media Studies and Applied Ethics Vol. 5, No 1, 2024, str. 44-58 The article examines the success or failure of two experimental pan-European channels, TV Eurikon and Europa TV, focusing on the role of television in shaping European identity. The research, carried out thanks to the International Visegrad Fund Research Grant Program and the Historical Archives of the European Union, showed that balanced reporting during development of satellite communication and strong pan-European communication strategy are of key importance for shaping the public perception of supranational institutions like the EU. To achieve success, policy makers must overcome obstacles such as linguistic diversity, regulatory frameworks and national interests.
