Fiscal policy plays a primary role in mitigating macroeconomic disturbances and stimulating economic growth through various stabilization and development measures. Therefore, research into its effectiveness, as well as the impact of these measures on economic aggregates, is a vital aspect for understanding economic mechanisms and formulating adequate economic policies. The research in this doctoral dissertation is focused on a comprehensive analysis of stabilization and development aspects of fiscal policy in different economic conditions, with special emphasis on the Republic of Serbia and the countries of the European Union. The dissertation will offer an overview and critical analysis of fiscal measures that have been applied in the context of economic crises, as well as those aimed at long-term economic development.
