A large number ofthese nouns were created by suffixation. For this reason, nouns of thenomina loci type are considered in this dissertation within theframework of the suffixes that participate in their construction. Theaims of this doctoral dissertation were as follows: 1) to look nouns thatbelong to the derivation-semantic category of nomina loci in thespeeches of the Jagodina area; 2) describe these nouns in the of thespeeches Jagodina area; 3) to register suffixal morphemes thatparticipate in the construction of nouns from the derivation-semanticcategory of nomina loci in the speeches of the Jagodina area; 4)determine which suffixes are frequent in their construction; 5) comparethe obtained results with the state recorded in relevant dictionaries ofthe Serbian language; 6) point out the differences between the Kosovo-Resava dialect (whose representatives are the speeches of the Jagodinaarea) and the standard language idiom and 7) show the competitivenessof suffixal morphemes. This dissertation is based on field notes, whichinclude 23 villages. By interviewing various informants (53 in total),627 examples (including microtoponyms) were collected. Thecompleted Questionnaire for the collection of nomina loci, consistingof 213 questions, served as the corpus. Rečnik srpskohrvatskogaknjiževnog jezika (RMS 1967–1976), Rečnik srpskoga jezika (RSJ2011) and Rečnik srpskohtvatskog književnog i narodnog jezika(RSANU 1959–) served as the control corpus. The results of the fieldresearch are as follows: 1) the semantics of some dialectal derivativesdiffers from the semantics of standard language derivatives; 2) thesemantics of some dialectal derivatives is narrower than the semanticsof standard language derivatives; 3) dictionaries of Serbian languagedo not record some derivatives; 4) phonetically modified derivativesare present in the dialectal idiom; 5) some suffixal morphemes are morefrequent in dialectal idioms, while others are more frequent in standardidioms; 6) a suffix is recorded in a dialectal idiom that is unknown tothe standard language idiom; 7) dialectal and standard language idiomalso have common features.
